It's been a while.. but I'm back!

Hey guys! Wow. I've not posted anything for so long. I admit it, I've been so busy getting used to my new job and starting a new semester of school, I've kind of fallen off the wagon. For the most part I've still been pretty healthy, and been able to squeeze a few workouts in, but I haven't been as good as I should/used to be. But, today I'm ready to change that. I've missed being a clean-eating gym-junkie! And thank you to all of you who have read, and continue to read my blog, you inspire me to keep going.

Fit Friday!

Sooo.. the vegetarian lifestyle didn't last too long. I decided to eat lean protein again like chicken and fish, but avoid red meat like beef and pork. I think that's what works best for me. Anyway, today I'll share my back workout and my turkey/avocado wraps!



EXERCISE

 Wide grip overhand pull-ups: 3 sets of 10 reps 
 Superset: XXXXXX
 Bent-over Barbell row: 3 sets of 8 reps 
 Seated cable row: 3 sets of 8 reps 
 Wide grip Lat Pull-down: 3 sets of 10 reps 
 One-armed row: 3 sets of 8 
 Hammer Strength Pull-downs: 3 sets of 10 reps 
 Hyperextensions: 3 sets of 8 reps 
 30 minute - medium intensity cardio (running, elliptical, step-mill) XXXX

Hello loves!

I can't believe you guys have already gotten me 1200 views, my blog is just a baby! Thanks so much! Well, I've discovered the difficulty of being a vegetarian. I've been replacing my meat mainly with protein shakes. Even eating at restaurants is difficult, EVERYTHING has meat in it! Or if it doesn't, it's extremely unhealthy. Anyway, I have good reasons for switching to vegetarianism and I'm sticking to it!  Tomorrow I'm going to try and pry myself out of bed before work to start my couch to 5k plan. I love love love being in the gym and lifting weights, but I've also always wanted to be a runner. I was always either too out of shape, or had too many excuses and never got around to it. Now, my asthma is really getting in my way, but I'm going to fight through it! 


I thought I'd post some inspiration for me in the morning, and for all of you reading this. =)

Hello again!

I have been SO busy lately I haven't had the time to update my blog at all. I just finished the spring semester of school with a 4.0 AND got a new job! It's been crazy. Anyway. Today has felt like my first real day of summer so I thought I'd share what I did today.

wait wait wait...
I totally forgot to tell you about a huge change I've recently made..
I've decided to become a vegetarian!
A lacto-ovo vegetarian.
Which means, I still eat eggs and dairy, but I eat no type of meat at all.
I decided to do it because it's good for the environment and it's healthy for you as long as you're getting all the right nutrients.

Okay, now back to my day.

First I went and ate lunch with my sister and ordered my first vegetarian meal. We ate sushi (yum!) and I got the vegetarian mix. It had cucumbers, avocados, etc. Delish!

Then we made a stop at Starbucks and I ordered the skinny cinnamon dolce latte. They make it with sugar-free syrup and fat free milk so it's much better than the regular.

After that I made a stop at the grocery store and it was SO weird not buying any type of meat. 

I noticed my basket was filled with mostly fresh fruit and vegetables. I hardly had any packaged food and I actually spent about $20 less then I usually do!

After I got home from the gym I decided to make some pumpkin protein bars. They are delicious! I'll be posting the recipe in a few.. see ya!

Tuesday Tacos!


Today I made shrimp tacos by adding in some fresh romaine lettuce, sugar snap peas, and a little greek yogurt. On the side I have steamed veggies and a hard-boiled egg!

Tuesday workout!

Here is my workout for today. We are working our chest & abs, and doing a little bit of moderate cardio.

Wide-grip barbell bench press: 5 sets of 8 reps (1 warm-up set, 3 reg sets, 1 set of negatives) 
 Wide stance push-ups: 3 sets of 15 reps XXXX
 Cable crossovers: 3 sets of 10 reps XXXX
 Smith machine incline bench press: 3 sets of 10 reps XXXX
 Side to side push-ups: 3 sets of 10 reps XXXX
 Superset: XXXXXXXXXX
 Toe touchers: 3 sets of 20 reps XXXX
 Crunches (legs straight in the air): 3 sets of 20 reps XXXX
 Roman Chair leg raise: 3 sets of 10 reps XXXX
 Cable crunches: 3 sets of 10 reps XXXX

Sunday breakfast & snack!

Today I made some banana toast for breakfast with a cheese omelette. Yum!


A bit later for my afternoon snack, I mixed some GIANT strawberries and almonds in with plain greek yogurt. 



Now I have to go finish up my homework and do laundry. Yayyy.....

Breakfast & Snack for today!

I always get up a little bit earlier then I need to to make some breakfast. It's the most important meal of the day of course! I had an original packet of Quaker oatmeal and mixed in 1 tbs of peanut butter and a sprinkle of cinnamon. Then I had eggs and a few strawberries on the side. Yum! 


A few hours later I got hungry for a snack so I had 1 cup of plain greek yogurt with almonds, an orange on the side, and some green tea to top it off!

Tomorrow's lunch!

I have to work tomorrow morning, so I put together a quick and healthy lunch that way I can just grab it and go!

  • 2 turkey meatloaf muffins (snacks tab).
  • 1 hard-boiled egg.
  • 1/2 cup of sugar snap peas.
Prepping your meals makes it so much easier to stay healthy, and you don't have to count on fast food because you're already prepared!

Back to school!

Today was the first day back from spring break and..... it wasn't that bad! (especially for a monday) Anyway, I thought I'd just share what my day was like..

I went to school and found out I made a 90 on my Mass Media midterm, and a 93 on my English essay.. woohoo! The rest of the day pretty much dragged on after that.. Then I came home, changed, and headed to the gym! And let me tell you, it was intense. Leg Mondays.. ouch. But you gotta...

So True!


On my way home, I was admiring Gods beautiful creation and the radio starting playing a song called All This Time by Britt Nicole, its such a good song. Go listen to it!


I also have a surprise. This weekend I'm making.....

Spring Break Fun!

Hi there! So today my mom and I decided to do a little shopping. Here's how it went down..

I found some neat thrift stores on the internet before we left for our adventure. I ended up with a dress-type-thingy, a skirt, and a couple shirts. Never know what you may find while thrifting!

Then I happened to get hungry, so I figured I'd snap a pic of my delicious granny smith apple.

After hitting a few more stores, we stopped for lunch at Jason's Deli. I got a turkey wrap (hold the ranch!) and some steamed veggies. Delish! All for 420 calories. OH! And they don't have sprouts anymore.... say what?! I just might have to protest.

Seeing as how I LOVE the Hunger Games, I thought it was amazing that Sally Beauty Supply had this nail polish! So cool.
I ended up with $54 invested into makeup/nail polish. A little pricey, but, I'm a girl. What do ya expect? =)
And then....

I LOST MY KEYS!
Along with my debit card, license, etc hooked onto it! Yikes!
After tearing up Old Navy looking for them (sorry Old Navy) I found them at the previous store we were at! Whew! *Sigh of relief*

The day began to come to an end when it started raining. (Boo Oklahoma weather).

My first post!

Hi guys! I'm new to this blogging thing, but I'll try my best to keep up. Since this is my first official blog post, I'll start off with some random facts about me.


  • My real name is Victoria *rolls eyes* but, call me Tori.
  • You'll probably find me in my room, sipping on green tea, and watching food network.
  • I started college in the fall, and instead of gaining my freshman 15, I lost it. More like 40 pounds, not 15. But who's counting right? ;)
  • I recently became a Christian. God is good. =)
  • I'm afraid of butterflies. Yes. You read that correctly.
  • I'm a bargain shopper. I like to just throw something together. 
  • I love to sing at the top of my lungs in my car. 
  • I have a tattoo that says, "Let It Be" ..words to live by!
  • I love reading, writing, and photography.
